Ninth Erwin Felix Lewy Bertaut Prize to Dr Matthias Zschornak


The Ninth Erwin Felix Lewy Bertaut Prize of the European Crystallographic Association (ECA) and the European Neutron Scattering Association (ENSA) is awarded to Dr Matthias Zschornak from the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany.

The Erwin Felix Lewy Bertaut Prize is awarded to Matthias Zschornak in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the the development of resonant X-ray diffraction, his structural studies of perowskites, and his extensive electronic calculations providing a thorough physical understanding of the properties of important materials.

Matthias Zschornak received the award at the 31st European Crystallographic Meeting in Oviedo (Spain), August 24th, 2018, from ECA President Alessia Bacchi and Udo Heinemann (ECA Vice President and Chair of Bertaut Prize Committee).
