The Tenth Erwin Félix Lewy Bertaut Prize (labelled ‘2021’) of the European Crystallographic Association (ECA) and the European Neutron Scattering Association (ENSA) is awarded to Dr Ellen Fogh from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland.
The prize commitee awards the Bertaut Prize to Ellen Fogh for her excellent achievements that made it possible to develop an understanding of magnetoelectricity and the complex link with field-dependent magnetic structures in materials, combining neutron scattering with other methods under extreme conditions. Her major achievements demonstrate the application of state-of-the-art methodologies and provide inspirational examples, beneficial to other research fields and other materials, that will create new possibilities for the future.
