Update on ECA Individual Member fees

Dear Colleagues,

During the ECA Council Meetings which took place on 27th and 29th August 2024 during ECM34 in Padova, the Executive Committee proposed an increase in Individual Member fees of the European Crystallographic Association. This proposal was discussed and unanimously approved by Council. As a result, as of the 1st September 2024, Individual Member fees will change to the following:

  • 1-year ECA Individual Membership: €25
  • 5-year ECA Individual Membership: €100
  • 1-year reduced ECA Individual Membership for Students/Retired persons: €10

In recent years, and particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic, the Executive Committee has received an increasing amount of requests to provide financial support for schools, workshops, and travel for young scientists across Europe and beyond to attend crystallographic meetings. This modest increase in fees will allow us, as a community, to support more of these activities as the organisation of these events continues to become more expensive.

The Executive Committee will continue to work to improve the range of benefits available to ECA Individual Members, and I hope that you will all continue to be a part of, and to help us grow, this association.

Andy Maloney
Secretary, European Crystallographic Association
On behalf of the Executive Committee
