ECS10: Registration is open

The European Crystallographic Association (ECA) is pleased to announce that registration for the 10th European Crystallography School (ESC10) is open.

ECS10 will take place from June 22 to June 29, 2025, at the Inex Olgica Hotel, situated on the shores of Lake Ohrid, N. Macedonia. Lake Ohrid boasts a history of around 1.4 million years, making it Europe’s oldest lake and one of the few ancient lakes in the world. The city of Ohrid, a dual UNESCO World Heritage site, is recognized as a cultural and religious center of Eastern Europe among the Slavic people.

The theme for the 10th European Crystallography School is “From Nano to Macro: Elucidating Structures at Different Length Scales.” This school is open to undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and young scientists from diverse fields such as biology, chemistry, material science, and physics.

The primary goal is to educate participants on diffraction methods that extend beyond traditional crystallography used for determining crystal structures from single crystals. Mornings will be dedicated to lectures, while afternoons will be focused on applications and hands-on tutorials. Additionally, participants will take part in a virtual tour of synchrotron facilities and engage in powder X-ray data collection at the Institute of Chemistry in Skopje.
