The flagship of ECA activities is the European Crystallographic Meeting (ECM), held every year, except when there is an IUCr Congress. The ECMs are the main meeting point for crystallographers in the ECA area to show their recent research. Microsymposia at ECMs are proposed and organized by ECA SIGs.
The ECMs are the general meetings of the ECA and are held every year when there is no IUCr congress.
Next ECM
See you in Poznan (and in Lviv) !The 35th European Crystallographic Meeting, ECM35, was originally going to take place in Lviv (Lwów, Lemberg), which is an important cultural centre of western Ukraine and a city with beautiful architecture, charm and a particular atmosphere. Lviv hosts the oldest University in Ukraine, founded in 1661, and the old town is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, but it is also an important IT cluster. The war in Ukraine forced us to change the plans, and the initial idea was modified to a joint organisation between Lviv in Ukraine and Poznan in Poland. Poznan is among the oldest and most important cities in Poland and it can be argued that it is the place where Poland, as a country, was born more than a thousand years ago. Modern Poznan is one of the largest academic and scientific centres in Poland, and offers many beautiful sites for a pleasant stay. On behalf of the European Crystallographic Association, the Ukrainian Crystallographic Committee, and the Polish Crystallographic Association, we invite you to ECM35 Lviv-Poznan, which will take place in Poznan, Poland, on August 25-29 2025. We are also looking forward to seeing you in Lviv in a peaceful future! |
