GIG-01 is a General Interest Group of the European Crystallographic Association

Activities

GIG-01 organizes various activities designed for Young Crystallographers and the broader European crystallographic community:

ECA Lunch Webinars

The ECA lunch webinars with an educational or scientific focus were invented following the strong wish to strengthen and vitalize the European crystallographic community. They are a monthly webinar series by the European Crystallographic Association (ECA) and involve all GIGs/SIGs. The webinars are organized in an online setting such as Zoom (45min + 15min Q&A) and take place every first or second (depending on the schedule of other ECA activities) Thursday of a month at lunchtime (1:00 PM CET).

For more information about the webinars, visit the dedicated webpage.

Young Crystallographers at the European Crystallographic Meetings

GIG-01 actively participates in shaping the program  of ECM, proposing sessions, keynote and plenary speakers. It regularly organizes a satellite meeting before each European Crystallographic Meeting. These events give young researchers the opportunity to present their work and network in an informal and friendly environment with their peers. Oral and poster presentations from all areas of crystallography are always present, providing a stimulating and welcoming environment for all the participants. We also organize a Mixer, a little party where all crystallographers under 36 years old can network, chat and have fun. GIG-01 is responsible for the Science Slam an event designed to show your research in a fun and unconventional way.
