The SIG-12 “Crystallography of Functional Materials” focuses on structure-property relationships in all classes of Materials Science and is dedicated to addressing the understanding of functional materials and the origin of physical properties through information obtained from crystallography. SIG-12 aims to illustrate structure-property relationships and applications of selected classes of materials that address various aspects of functional materials, ranging from (multi)ferroic, thermoelectric, photonic, electronic, battery, (photo)catalytic materials, sustainable materials development for energy … The SIG-12 team is dedicated to point the importance of crystallography in understanding and improving various properties of functional materials, whether single crystals, bulk polycrystalline materials, or thin films.
