it is with great sadness that we here publish the obituary of Slimane Dahaoui written by El Eulmi Bendeif and Claude Lecomte. Slimane was Associate Professor at the Laboratory CRM2 of the University of Lorraine (Nancy, France) and he suddenly passed away in April 2018 at the age of 51.</p>
