SUMMARY:ED-XPD Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is intended for PhD students\, postdocs and young researchers\, who want to learn how electron diffraction (ED) and X-ray powder diffraction (XPD) can be combined to characterize the structures of polycrystalline materials. While the emphasis will be on using 3-dimensional ED data to solve a structure and XPD to refine it\, the overlap of the two approaches (solving from XPD data and refining with ED data) will also be discussed. Lectures will cover basic crystallography\, indexing\, intensity extraction\, structure solution\, structure completion and structure refinement.
