DESCRIPTION:Croatian Association of Crystallographers is proud to announce the third edition of its advanced crystallography workshop “Hot Topics in Contemporary Crystallography – HTCC”. The meeting aims to attract motivated researchers by in-depth tackling the fascinating developments and achievements of the experimental methods and theoretical approaches expanding over the last decade that put forward crystallography at the front lines of natural sciences.\nThis year\, the international programme committee of the HTCC3 has chosen the following three hot topics: Crystallography under extreme conditions\, Total scattering – crystallography beyond the Bragg equation\, and Dynamical crystallography. The team of the leading professors and scientists in these fields will be tirelessly presenting\, explaining\, tutoring\, discussing and challenging you over the three intensive working days of the workshop. You will also be invited to present your own research in a form of a poster\, and to discuss various aspects of your work with the top notch experts. DESCRIPTION:The Twenty-sixth Croatian-Slovenian Crystallographic Meeting (CSCM26) will be held in the Hotel Valamar Diamant\, in Adriatic city Poreč\, Croatia\, located in the western coast of Istrian Peninsula\, from June 13th to 17th\, 2018. The Meeting is organized by the Croatian Crystallographic Association and Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology\, University of Ljubljana. All the necessary information on the venue\, scientific programme\, registration procedure\, abstract submission\, social programme\, deadlines and accommodation arrangement can be found at the official website of the Meeting\, http://kristalografi.hazu.hr. \nThere is no registration fee for this Meeting. Also\, a number of bursaries is available to PhD students and postdocs (bursary deadline is April 15th). SUMMARY:Workshop on Hot Topics in Contemporary Crystallography
DESCRIPTION:We are now a bit more than a century away from the first structural studies based on the diffraction of X-rays on crystals\, but over this relatively short period of time\, the level of complexity that we are capable of examining has multiplied literally by millions. In particular\, over the last decade or so\, we are witnessing a remarkable advance in experimental methods and theoretical approaches in crystallography which are putting this scientific branch of ours to the front lines of not only structural chemistry\, but of natural sciences in general. \nIn order to review and tackle these fascinating recent achievements and developments\, we in Croatian Association of Crystallography\, have\, three years ago\, developed the concept and launched the first edition of Hot Topics in Contemporary Crystallography – a high level workshop intended to the utterly ambitious PhD students and postdocs\, as well as to the young crystallographers in the early stages of their autonomous carriers\, conducting their research within the broad spectrum of disciplines and sub disciplines related to crystallography. \nHereby\, we are proudly announcing the registration opening and call for bursary applications for the second edition of the Hot Topics in Contemporary Crystallography workshop – HTCC2017\, to be held in Poreč\, one of the jewels of the Croatian Adriatic\, from April 22nd to 26th\, 2017.
